Kiwanis Club of Hawthorne

Our Mission:

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the

world one child and one community at a time.

The Kiwanis Club of Hawthorne, California is a fun loving service club dedicated on making Hawthorne a better place - especially for our youth. Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service. No problem is too big or too small. Why? Because by working together, many can achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

We raise funds through a community carnival and firework sales that help support our youth through scholarships and sponsorship of our High School Key Clubs. In addition, the Club supports a number of community causes and hosts an annual Christmas Senior Luncheon. Check out our Events page for more on our Service Projects.

WE’LL MISS YOU NORM

Our friend Norm Morton, a member for over 27 years, passed away on February 11th. Norm was loved  by all and will be sorely missed!

Norm joined pour Club September 22, 1995 and immediately stepped up and took on needed jobs wherever they were. Whenever the Club had a fundraising or social event Norm was the man who recruited the workers and locked down the RSVP’s. He was a backbone of the Club. Norm was Kiwanis President for the 2021/2022 year and is fondly remembered for his movie trivia games that many times resulted in members being fined for wrong answers. It was odd though that many questions seemed to be about the actress Barbara Rush. Norm also served many times on the Club’s Board of Directors (as he was currently), as Treasurer, and in 2018 when the Club was without a secretary, he stepped up in his usual fashion to serve the Club in that very important position. At last year’s installation banquet Norm was award “Kiwanian of the Decade”. We’ll miss you Norm.
